What is Melanotan II?

Melanotan II (MT-II) is a synthetic analogue of α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone), initially developed to leverage the body's natural tanning mechanism. By activating melanocortin receptors, it strongly stimulates the production of eumelanin — the pigment responsible for a deep, even, and long-lasting tan, with minimal UV exposure.
